Once part of the huge properties amassed by the last Mexican Governor Pio Pico and his family in the 1840’s, Rancho Mission Viejo is now largely a nature reserve and partly opened for residential living. Because of that, some of the most beautifully preserved landscapes in Orange County reside here.
Unlike towns in the surrounding area, Rancho Mission Viejo has a lovely hiking trail that the entire family will enjoy, including the dogs. The animal-friendly Oso Creek Trail keeps locals and visitors coming back again and again. However, for those of you who prefer to stay away from wildlife but still enjoy the outdoors, the Casta del Sol Golf Courseis a great option. You can enjoy this full 18-hole course at your leisure.
Since it is such a calm and peaceful city, it is the perfect place to raise your children. Esencia School will be opening in early 2018, with state of the art equipment to give your children a leg up in life as few other schools can.
The older generations seem to love this atmosphere as well, which is why places like Gavilan are becoming more and more popular. With retirement communities in the area, everyone in the family can live a few minutes away.
Rancho Mission Viejo is a town that everyone falls in love with and wants to share with their close friends.
