Tucked away to the east of Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita is a newer community sprawled across the rolling hills of Orange County. Although Rancho Santa Margarita is younger, the community is populated by just under 50,000 residents. Highway 241 runs through the town of Rancho Santa Margarita, so commuters have easy access to other cities, and it makes it easy to take weekend trips ect.

A majority of the homes in Rancho Santa Margarita are encompassed in four large communities. The first is the Rancho Santa Margarita Landscape and Recreation Corporation. Within this hefty-sized community, there are multiple parks, sports field and courts as well as four swimming pools for residents to use. Many locals like to spend their weekends at this community because it offers so many more amenities than just the ones listed, such as the Lago Santa Margarita and the Beach Club Lagoon. Throughout the community you have the option to rent out event spaces, water boat and kayak rentals, or bikes! There’s isn’t a weekend you won’t have something to do! The three remaining communities are Dove Canyon, Robinson Ranch and Rancho Cielo.

Rancho Santa Margarita is encompassed in the Saddleback Unified School District which offers 24 elementary schools, five middle schools and seven high schools. The Saddleback Unified School District focuses on keeping parents and families involved in their children’s education and after-school activities. The district offers a family portal so parents can keep up-to-date on events, resources, volunteer opportunities and their child’s grades.

Rancho Santa Margarita has plenty to offer year-round to residents, but lucky enough, it is also directly next to larger cities like Mission Viejo. For a big shopping haul or a nice dinner out, locals will head over to the Shops at Mission Viejo where there is over 150 stores and eating options to choose from! During the Summer, residents also enjoy heading down to Central Park, in downtown, on Sunday evenings for the Summer Concert Series!
