4 Things To Know About Moving to California
California is unlike any other state in the country. If you want to brush up on all you need to know before you make the move, here are a few things you might want to familiarize yourself with before you move!
1. Time Your Move
With other states in our great country, you might have to work around snowy seasons. Thankfully, in Southern California, you don’t have to worry about that, but you do have to worry about the heat and the rain. The best months to move to SoCal are considered the “winter” months which will offer the coolest weather – usually from November to April. Of course, this varies from year to year! The best times to beat the rainfall are between April and October.
2. California Traffic
It doesn’t really matter where you go in California, if it’s a populated area, you will see traffic. The best thing you can do is stay away from really congested areas like Highway 5 and 405, these merge together and can create heavy traffic. If there are any games going on or any amusement parks open you will also need to check for traffic patterns before leaving your house.
However, there are actually a lot of people in SoCal that do not drive around in their cars because of the amount of traffic! If you decide you would rather take a break from driving your own car, you do have other options:
- Bus Services
- Commuter Train
- Carpool Options
- Lyft and Uber.
3. Sites To See In When You Move California
There are so many different things to do in Southern California. If you’re moving on your own, with your spouse or with kids – there are a ton of things to do. Make sure you brush up on restaurants to eat at, amusement parks to check out, the best beaches in Southern California and of course the best places to enjoy the outdoors – parks, trails, gardens, and wildlife areas because there is a lot to choose from. However, as stated above, beware of traffic!
4. Finding A New Place To Live
Of course, if you are going to be relocating, you will also need a home. The biggest issue people have with this, especially if they live in another state, is that they can’t be flying back and forth to California in order to meet with a realtor and check places out.
